An Angels Fall
You were an angel flying high
Wings gleaming in the light
Dressed in innocent white
Chasing clouds passing by
No burden was on your shoulder
In your heaven so free
No harm you could see
But slowly you got older
Something new awoke in your head
A first thought was born in your mind
And then came others straight behind
And those thoughts made you sad
The thoughts awoke doubts in you
And chaos within your soul
It grew stronger with every thought
And your heaven became weakened
One thought crossed the line
Your wings got paralyzed
Unmovable by your very doubts
You begin to fall from your heaven
Faster and faster you fall stars passing by
You keep on thinking as you can't see why
Earth comes near as your plunge goes on
And then you hit the atmosphere
Your thoughts whisper on laughing at you
Voices all around you telling you your faults
Searing pain tears at you as your robes start to burn
Your white wings catch flame as Earth closes in
You scream in agony while the voices still accuse
The fall goes on
Voices carry on
More pain
Faster
you faint
silence
Light touches your eyes as you wake up again
Your once white wings charred to black
All in black you are clad now, too
All gleaming and glimmer is gone
You get up and look around
Another lost soul on Earth
